Course Overview:
A modular course for employees who are appointed as fire fighters and fire marshals within their workplace, to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The course empowers learners to select and use the appropriate fire-fighting equipment to extinguish or control small fires in the workplace.
This Course will enable learners to:
- Discuss and explain procedures for dealing with fires in the workplace
- Identify the type of fire, sound the alarm and follow the appropriate fire-fighting procedure
- Identify, select and check appropriate fire-fighting and safety equipment
- Fight containable/extinguishable fires
- Prevent fires by reducing hi-risk components around the workplace
- Retreat from fire site and hand over to appropriate personnel
